Our Story
Why we started New Pickleball Guide — and why we can’t stop

I stumbled onto a pickleball court by accident. I was taking a shortcut through the local rec center parking lot when I heard this odd popping sound — part ping-pong, part tennis — and saw a group of people laughing and sprinting around a small court.
I stood and watched for 20 minutes. Then I walked in and asked if I could try.
That was three years ago. Today I play four times a week, I’ve dragged eleven friends into the sport, and I can’t shut up about it at dinner parties. Pickleball did something I never expected: it made me feel like an athlete.
But getting started was confusing. Kitchen rules, dinking, the two-bounce rule — none of it made sense at first. I wished there was one clear, friendly place to learn it all. So I built it.
Our Mission
New Pickleball Guide exists to lower the barrier to entry. We write the guides we wish we’d had when we first walked onto a court — clear, fun, and packed with practical tips for real beginners.
Whether you’re picking up your first paddle or trying to master the dink, you’re in the right place. See you on the court!
